Bada Bling, Bada Bloom!

Hi all

4 challenges today, 3 of which seem to fit this card

The Male Room - Up in the Air (no birds)

I'd like to put my feet up in the air too.

The Clean and Simple Sketch

This would also be great for a Playschool "There's a Bear in There" theme

You know there's the same amount of boys to girls out there, don't you?

The second card is for The Card Concept's Inspiration Post Grey, White and yellow with those lovely flowers...

I tried to make it Clean and layered. My photography sucks, it looks much prettier in real life... trust me

Have a great day :)

Dude... where's my CARD!

Hi all

The Male Room has done it again with a washi tape challenge (oh I love the stuff) and I would like to enter this card into the fray

I cant believe how many uses you can get from basically decorated masking tape.

I reckon I'll try stamping some next and then paint and then inks and then... who knows?

Have a terrific day

Just Beachy

Hi

Dropping in to show you my 2nd card for June which was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches gorgeously simple design.

I immediately thought of a beach hut window and happened to have a frame embellishment that was perfect for this project.

I first tried it on a white card base, but the beachy colours didn't stand out as much and now it really "pops"

I cut out a window in the front of the black card base and lined the inside with beachy blue, which I then stamped with the sentiment ("Mum's the word" set) and aligned to the window. Wrapped a couple of offcuts from ribbon and added slides on each side and popped a lovely heart embellishment in-between.

Have a lovely day

Finally, Inspired!

Hi there,

Where have I been?

I've been busy avoiding my most loved pastime and it's high time I got back into it!

Here is the first of about twelve cards I need to make for June (seems in springtime a young man's fancy turns to thoughts of procreation.)

It's based on this sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

For my treasured Aunt Pam, who lives in Victoria (brrrr) I made something sunny and warm (just like her.)

I love the sentiment from cas-ual friday stamps "Mum's the Word" set.

The circle cut outs were a bit tricky as I don't have circle punches and they're not quite round, but I think the gemini motif distracts you from that.

I like the sketch design which looks a bit like the sun with a planet in orbit around it.

I would also like to enter this into The Card Concept's current challenge #36.

I believe the white flowers, yellow and hints of teal remind me of the white icing yellow cake and teal/green patterns on the cupcake wrappers.

Thanks for dropping by. I need a push sometimes to get me going again.

Not a Bad Bird...

Nice to catch up with you again.

A new technique for me (all techniques are pretty much new to me, 'cause there are so many fun supplies and natural resources to use to come up with something new.)

Up until now I've been petrified of using watercolours and I'm glad I finally dispelled the myth (in my own mind) that this medium was to unforgiving.

I was pleasantly surprised with the results.

The first one is a mandala created using a compass and by using circles within circles, you can get these incredible patterns. I filled in the shapes using several different shades of watercolours but mainly kept it to a grape/grey scheme with washi tape and grey embossed stars.

The second one I am absolutely thrilled with and it was sooooo simple too.
Circle background filled in using a small circle stencil and shades of watercolour, then stamped with a texture stamp from Kaiser craft and lorikeet stencil placed on top and daubed with green ink, outlined in black. "For you Mum" sentiment
stamped in memento black ink and 2 "chopstick" offcuts adhered on top.

I would like to enter the second one into the Perfectly Rustics New Technique Challenge and the Case This Sketch challenge No 120

Cheers

Sumptious Sapphires

Hi everyone, I've missed you so I thought I'd pop in and show you the first card I have made using a box card template.

There are quite a few tutorials on how to construct these beauties and I express my appreciation to the engineers behind them.

My lovely neighbour asked me to make a special card for her parents 65th Sapphire Anniversary and this is how it turned out.

There a 3 floral inserts, 3 heart handles and 3 panels of beautiful paper so I am entering this into the Top Tip Tuesday Challenge.

A painstaking undertaking, no mistaking it!

See you all next time... huzzah!

Blind Creation

G'Day from the Dingo

You may be wondering about the title of my post today.

I'm entering a card I created today into 3 challenges and it is going to be interesting to see what reaction I get, you see, I have attempted to make this without my glasses!

Here is the result

It's based on a sketch by Jaqueline from The Male Room

and the theme is taken from Cas-ual Fridays "Music and spring colours" (I chose the lyrics from the Beach Boys "Good Vibrations" for the background and some spring beachy matching papers)

I'm not sure where I got the road trip embellishment and the twine bow should qualify me for the "Anything goes with a bow" challenge at Cards In Envy.

I trust you can "see" where my inspiration came from!

Have a lovely day
