Tick Tock You Rock

Hello blog friends,

I have a new card to show you that I believe has the elements that qualify for two challenges.

Feeling Sketchy's interesting sketch above and another Rock Around the Clock challenge which I was too late for (ggggrrrrrrrrr.)

The newspaper base to Feeling Sketchy's image inspired me to use alphabet background stamp and the flower I replaced with the funky girl's head. The text was printed using WordArt and I manipulated it to form a circle. I then cut the square down to smaller size and around the letters and placed a small bronze clock charm in the middle  (hence "Rock Around the Clock") I think the Tick Tock You Rock sentiment is quite contemporary and fun.

Light me Up

Hi all,

I trust you are all having a fabulous Monday/Sunday and are busy making time for yourselves to float away on the clouds of your ideas.

I have a fun card today...

which is a bit unusual.

The sentiment really is the basis of the whole thing, so I would like to enter this into 2 challenges being:-

Got the Blues?

Hi to everyone...

Well, Can you believe I haven't made a post since the 17th December.

I must make up for lost time.

My first card of the year and I am entering this one into The Male Room's shades of blue challenge.

Who knows, now that I've started, maybe I wont be able to stop!

I took advantage of this one, because I really am not enamoured by the colour blue and this gave me a chance to use up a lot of strips of various papers I had in my stash.

About the only blue stuff I'm getting through is the twine.

I simply layered the strips of paper ombre style, added a sentiment and candle embellishment and then finished off with a stitched frame. The base card is basic cream.

A good card to start off the year, I reckon...

Mother Mary and her Minion

Hi all,

Two cards to blog about today and talk about from the sublime to the ridiculous!

This one I would like to enter into the Cards in Envy Challenge which is a Christmas Carol theme and as you can see I chose to do a CAS card using "Silent Night".

The image is hand copied (not printed) from one of millions on the internet and I coloured it using pastel pencils and a sharpie silver ink pen. I made an aperture in black card stock for the sentiment and layered it on white and then on a black card base. A few clear crystals to resemble stars and... done.

The second card is a bit on the ridiculous side...

It's hand drawn using a tutorial from Dragoart, coloured using just plain old Textas, silver Sharpie pen and red glitter glue, mounted over a fluffy red feather for dramatic impact and balanced out with some red gingham ribbon. I used a pun for the sentiment "We Wish You a Minion Christmas"

I would like to enter this one in Shopping Our Stash's "Red Alert" Challenge.

No Worries, Angel

Halo there!

There must be an angel in my craft room and I cannot believe how productive I have become since the heavens have given us a reprieve from the oppressive humidity we have had of late.

This is the stress angel I have in my home and that alongside my stress ball heart has helped me to worry less. Top Tip Tuesday's current challenge is to create a card using something in your home that inspires you and this the card that came from that inspiration:

My top tip is to only enter one or two challenges at a time, cause if you take on too much, you will end up less productive and more cluttered in your style.

I also wish to enter it into Make My Monday's "Angels" challenge (thank you, I love angels) and see how it goes there.

I learned how to draw the angel from Dragoart and I think she looks pretty ethereal floating up to the snowflakes above. A bit of teal ribbon and silver beaded ribbon along with a couple of crystals and aaahhhhh...

Snowflakes Bejewelled

G'day everyone,

Today is another day and what a relief from the humidity we have been having in Queensland lately.

Now that our sticky stuff actually sticks and doesn't slide all over the paper I've put together a card using Colour Throwdown's "courageous" colour scheme that reminds me of those I knew as a teen in the late 70's-80's.

Colour Throwdown has really thrown 'em this time:

So I've thrown them a card which matches Cas(e) This Sketch's challenge:

Here is the card:

I cut a couple of the snowflakes out from the paper so that the pink would show through and added a few matching crystals here and there to pick up some shine for Xmas. 

Now I just gotta choose someone to give it to...

The Butterfly Effect

Hi bloggers,

Again I am entering a card into 2 challenges as there is so many to choose from at the moment.

I embraced the colour scheme from The Card Concept which is this beautiful selection:

I was inspired by the chocolate and silver elements in this picture and the silver stars just brought butterflies to my twisted mind.

I also thought I would enter it into Shopping Our Stash's "Favourite Technique" which is Using Apertures.

Normally I lattice aperture cards to give them a woven texture, but in this case I had only a few scraps that exactly matched the colour scheme. The butterflies are a lovely pale yellow, a chocolate coloured embossed middle one and a mirror silver card one on the bottom.

I made the antennae using some old copper wire and finished it of with a mirror card and silver strip on the side and some hot chocolate coloured twine.

Something a bit different for Xmas, catch ya
