Classic & Classy

Hi Guys

I cannot believe it is already March here in Australia and the Easter Eggs are already in the stores. Sheesh!

The card I have to offer today is one based on a sketch by Just Add Ink and I thought I'd give it a twist (literally.)

The sketch is super simple so of course I made it difficult for myself.

I Found this classic 40's pin up picture and cut it into a circle and matted it on black cardboard.

The sentiment is also printed onto basic card and cut out. The angular piece was a bit more difficult as it entailed rolling up (twisting) different patterned paper around a skewer stick and adhering them in a logical pattern over the angled piece of card stock to gain dimension. I waited for them to dry before turning it over and trimming the end bits off flush to the card shape.

Not content with that, I decided to thread some gorgeous ribbon through the tubes of paper and tie them off in a simple bow to finish it off.

Here is a side view:-

Pink on black always looks great in my opinion.

Cheers

  3. That is a very effective back ground. I think it matches the era of the pic very well. Chantell JAI
