We meet again.
I went all out today and made 2 cards using different techniques to make my own background papers.
The first one is a fun card where I've used some brown and cream stitched card as a base and the background paper was made using white photocopy paper stamped with a Kaiser Kraft Alphabet stamp using differing shades of ink ranging from dark brown to peppermint green. I cut the paper in half lengthways so I could use the greener half on another project. I then edged a piece of black card with a Martha Stewart punch and overlaid it to the side.
The horse is a free image from the internet and the greeting was stamped onto the sign in matching ink.
The second card is one where I have made the background paper from strips of other papers I had left over using a technique I learned from Gina K of Stamp TV. Very fiddly but fun to do. I put a self adhesive ribbon near the bottom and added the Pisces image and sentiment (again the image is from the internet) and layered that onto black card and onto a white card base.
They look much better in real life.
I would like to enter both of these cards into The Male Room's "Make Your Own Background Paper" Challenge and see what happens!
Cheers
