Have You Got The Sketch Bug?

G'Day all,

Ever since I saw the Miniscule series of short stories about a bunch of bugs doing crazy things I have been hooked. That cheeky ladybug has me in stitches!

I am entering a bug themed card into to challenges this week, the first of which is Feeling Sketchy's #103.

and the other is at Just Us Girls (sorry Ladies, I couldn't save the image.) Their URL is http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com.au/ where the word challenge is "Celebrate"

Here are 2 cards I did which are of the same design and elements, but one has a decorative edge to the background and one plain.

I think I like the crinkly edge one more and I like the way the clear resin flowers help bring out the red colour of the button bug.

Hope you like it.

Rustic Rust

G'Day once again from the Dingo.

Fancied a bit of rural relaxation this week and as I was not able to get out in reality, I decided to take up the photo challenge at Just Us Girls Challenge Blog which is as depicted below:

Here is my take on the photo:
I tried to stick to the perspective in the picture and began by cutting out the head and shoulders of a Whoopsie Daisy Digi stamp and adhering it to the base card. I then chose a beautiful rusty coloured textural paper and laid it over the Digi to make it appear to be in front of her. Then I matted the slats on to black card to create the shadows between the slats and added it to the right corner to create the wall. I used a rub on sentiment and added a corrugated picket fence, wheelbarrow with brad tyre, teeny BBQ, a puffy leaf coated in glitter paint and finished it off with various flowers.

I hope you like it.

Tie One On

G'Day from the Dingo

Here is my entry for Feeling Sketchy's 100th Sketch Challenge.
Congratulations to all of you on a very fine site.

You would not believe the amount of time it took me to put this together. Either I'm getting old or the challenges are getting more, well, challenging.

I opted for a sort of urban masculine style using a subtle embossed background with some mesh and a few matted up differently coloured ties.

The flourish in the sketch turned into the twine swirl and bow which reminds me of the washing line and everything getting tangled up in the wind. Finished it off with a few brads and the sentiment (which I'm sure the boys would like.)

Here is the sketch

Kaisercraft Fathers' Day Challenge

Hi,

Here is my father's day card for the Kaisercraft Challenge No 4.

I used their clock face chippies with the sconce cut from a smaller clock chippie and substituted the clock part of the chippie with a crown bottle cap.
These top the contrasting background papers and the whole thing is "pulled" together with some ornate bronze/gold ribbon I found in my stash along with some cool feathers I found on line. Inside the card is lined with the matching distressed paint patterned paper (all inked around the edges of course.)
The sentiment was stamped using Kaisercraft minis "Happy Fathers Day"

Hope you like this one.

Mojo Monday 359

G'Day

Thought I'd play along with another card sketch challenge blog today with Mojo Monday's No 359 sketch

Here is one of two cards I made using the design...

It has a bit of a bubbly feel about it throughout the different layers and looks nice in the light with the sparkle of the bling and the bottle cap mad hatter scene suits my recipient's personality.

This is a second one I made for a last minute card which actually came out quite nice as well.

Now to choose???...

Well, I'll Be Tickled...

Hi all,

Today I am entering into the colour challenge at Just Us Girls Challenge Blog which is blue green and any neutrals as below.

I was always taught by my mum (God rest her) that "blue and green should never be seen", but this unusual colour combination tickled my fancy so much I thought why not? And after I finished the first one, I liked it so much I made another. I like the neutral window and brad that tie the two rogue colours together and the frames which were cut and mitred from a 12" x 12" patterned paper

Here are the resulting cards...

Pink Pink Pink!

Hey Folks,

Entering the Feeling Sketchy Challenge yet again - #97  (they always give me inspiration)

Here is the sketch
and here is my card
I made this one for my sister who is about to turn 50... woo hoo!

Layers of pink everywhere and just a bit of crystal bling to break it up subtly.

I love the design for this sketch particularly and really enjoyed putting it all together. (I think that's because my sister has such a beautiful soul.) I considered curling a feather around it, but I think it's soft enough as it is. What do you think?
